circe: a book review

This is one of the best books I’ve read in years. I fell in love with the ancient-esque prose, it truly feels like magic which is appropriate given the book tells the story of a Circe, a witch in the world of Greek mythology. I don’t always love fiction and I definitely don’t always love fantasy but this book marries magic with the real world in a way I’ve never really experienced. I bought this book in a little bookshop in London where the clerk enthusiastically raved about it but I didn’t really believe him until I got caught in that world myself. The last paragraph gave me chills. I recommend this to anyone who loves a strong heroine, becoming engrossed in a far-removed magical world, Greek mythology and/or writing that is art. 10/10.
